Good morning! Happy Friday! I hope you guys are looking forward to the weekend. My mom & sister are stopping through here tonight on their way to Pensacola to visit my Grandma. I would like to go but I have to work this weekend with Darin as we get ready to start his business next week. I’m excited to see them for a little while to catch up!
Fitness
This morning started at 4:20am, bright & early! It was time for my second try at my gym’s bootcamp. I went two weeks ago and it was killer. I love fitness classes that push you and even though it’s at a dreadfully early time, it’s worth it later! This morning it was raining so we were inside at the gym. Speaking of, we joined Omni Fitness here in Mobile.
It’s great because there are so many fitness classes, tons of equipment, a “ladies only” room & a cinema theatre with cardio machines! Plus the bootcamp is free, which is rare, and is basically like a personal training session. After this mornings grueling session which included running sideways on the treadmill, running on incline 12, pushing 65lbs of weight back and forth across a room & curling weights while biking up a mountain, I was ready to eat when I got home! Enter smoothie.

Green Recovery Smoothie
- 1 Scoop of Chocolate Protein Powder
- 1 Tbsp Peanut Butter
- 1 Banana
- 1/2 Cup of Rolled Oats
- 1 Cup Almond/Coconut Milk (or milk of your choice)
- 1/2 Cup of Baby Spinach
- 1/2 tbsp Ground Flax Seed
- 1 tsp of Cinnamon
- 1 cup of Ice
Simply add all ingredients (oats not pictured above) to a blender & mix! This smoothie was soo delicious and therefore I felt the need to share it with you
Don’t let the baby spinach scare you, you don’t even taste it and it’s a great way to get some veggies in your morning diet!
I thought I’d share my life over the last week via Iphone with you today. And then I’ll share my favorite internet finds from the week! Hope you enjoy.

Last Saturday, Darin’s mom & stepdad, Judy & Jim, came to visit us! We went and visited the USS Alabama Battleship in the Mobile Bay.
We toured on board the ship, saw the captain’s quarters and climbed up to high points of the ship.
Captain Darin.
Darin’s mom, Judy & Mr. Jim. They are so sweet and were fun to have in town!
It was a beautiful day to tour around Mobile!
Sunday afternoon a little neighbor friend came to visit us.
We did a little dance on the patio.
Then I whipped up a batch of these babies.
You can find the recipe here and I made mine with Dark Chocolate Chips. Although I’m warning you, make these for a party or to share with others, otherwise you’ll gain 5lbs. I made up this batch for Darin’s meetings with other restaurant owners in the area. I wrapped them up in some plastic wrap for freshness & ribbon!
Yesterday I visited the Southeastern Salvage shop in Mobile. It’s this huge warehouse with antique furniture & funky decor. They had great prices and I snagged a few items for my home. I wish I could have snagged this driftwood mirror…
I also loved these little fabric puffs.
I love the design work on these benches.
Creepy cat statues, just for fun.
Last but not least, I found a new night time sweet snack- Chobani Bite! They have this flavor along with Raspberry with Chocolate Chips & Pineapple with Caramel. I can’t wait to try the others but the one I had last night was Coffee with Dark Chocolate. It’s only 100 Calories with 8g protein- can’t beat that!

What’s your favorite website/blog that inspires you?

You are an early riser, I admire that! I love green smoothies with peanut butter in and the oats just make it extra filling for a great breakfast. Those avocado egg rolls look amazing too!
Haha well it’s rare
And peanut butter added to smoothies is always my favorite!
Those bars look SO good! And I would have been hungry after that boot camp workout too. Whew!
They are amazing but I only make them on rare occasions because I tend to eat most of the mixings while I prep them
I was starving after your bootcamp workout today! Working me good
Good to know I’m not the only crazy person at the gym before 5am! Loving that smoothie, I’m going to try it tomorrow
Those avocado egg rolls look ridiculously delicious!!!
Haha yeah surprisingly there are a lot of people at my gym that early! I definitely want to crash by 8pm though
Great smoothie recipe, I am totally trying it out
Awesome! I hope you enjoy, I loved it.
Girl, before 5am? You have a specialized kind of willpower. Those bars look delish. Hope you had a blast with Darin’s fam! You are a doll and you continue to inspire me! Thank you!
