Good morning! The weekend is here and I’m so ready for some adventure! Do you ever go through the week and feel like you do the same thing everyday? We are going to do some fun things Saturday, can’t wait to share with you later!
For this Friday’s edition of Link Love I want to share my Fitness, Flavor & Finds along with other great blogger’s I love to follow.
Fitness
Yesterday the agenda was a 2 mile speed run + intervals. My goal was to be under 8:00/mile for the run. I headed outside and the wall of humidity/heat which is South Florida hit me. But I kept pushing myself and when I reached the 1 mile mark I was at 7:58/mile so I was happy and tried to push even harder on the way back. The result:
I had a 7:47 pace overall. I was very excited! When I got home I didn’t have a lot of time before I was going to an event so I did a 5 minute Ab interval workout. This one is great to add into your workout routine or simply for a quick burn!
Alternating Plank Knee Tucks- Holding your body in a high plank, tuck your right knee towards your left underarm. Repeat with the left knee towards your right underarm.
Jump In & Out- Start in a high plank. Jump your feet in, close to your hands and then jump back into plank. Repeat for the 30 seconds.
Crab Toe Touch- Alternate touching left arm to right toe and right arm to left toe while staying in a full bridge.
Left Lift-Toe Touch- Lay on your back with your hands overhead and feet pointing out. Keeping your lower back pressed into the ground, lift your feet and hands up at the same time to meet in the middle. Bring legs and arms back down and then repeat.
A workout that I’m going to try out this weekend from Naomi at One Fit Foodie is the Torturous Body Weight Countdown. If that title doesn’t make you want to work out, her awesome body will! She is so fit and has great workouts and advice on her blog. Check her out!
Flavor
Lately, I have seen a lot of sweet potatoes around the food blog world and never really thought much of the multiple ways you can use sweet potatoes. I love sweet potato fry’s and sweet potato casserole (can’t wait for Thanksgiving!) but that’s about as far as I go.
On Wednesday night along with Maple Salmon & Veggies, we had Sweet Potatoes. I decided to “spice” mine up by melting (1) tbsp of Coconut oil & (1) Tsp of Agave over low heat and pouring that over my Sweet Potato. I topped it off with Cinnamon & Unsweetened Shredded Coconut.
That Sweet Potato didn’t even know what was happening to it. I devoured it in minutes.
Another easy recipe I saw on Lindsay’s blog, the Lean Green Bean, was Sweet Potato Puffs.
These little puffs of flavor are made of only 3 ingredients. Go check out the recipe! I’m going to make them this weekend.
Finds
While shopping for my Foodie Pen Pal at Whole Foods the other day, I found this little treasure.
Earth Balance Coconut & Peanut Spread!!! I love peanut butter (who doesn’t??) but my love for coconut is even greater so to have these two items make a baby is heaven in a jar. Exaggerate much?
Speaking of Coconut, I spotted these little baked goodies from Averie at Averie Cooks the other day and have bookmarked them to make. Coconut White Chocolate Chip Blondies, with a name like that how can you not make them?! I want one now.
Do you like Sweet Potatoes? What’s your favorite way to eat them?

That crab toe touch looks intense….but effective! I must try! Sweet potatoes are the bomb! Haha…I must try the addition of coconut oil or nut butter! Food bloggers seem to rave about it! I love that you link to others Natalie, it’s such a nice gesture.
